In redesigning the Anglepoise lamp I recognised the tactile relationship we have with this icon. My approach consisted in finding the technology, forms and materials that would put touch at the centre of this prodect. Instead of combining friction and springs to maintain its position this design relies on electromagnetic brakes, activated by touch.
Freeze was presented to Ernesto Gismondi (Founder of Artemide) & later exhibited as part of the Aram Gallery's New Moves Exhibition.
